Citizens get justice themselves
A peaceful Alabama family's house was robbed the other day, where Christmas gifts were stolen from right under their Christmas tree. The same burglars then went to a neighbors house and broke into their house as well a few days later, which is where they got video of the criminals. Most people would call the police and have the law enforcement deal with the problem. Not this Alabama family... when the husband and wife found out the whereabouts of the thief's. They quickly got in their car and gave the burglars a little visit. The family held the guilty thief's at gun point for a half an hour until police arrived at the scene. It is great to see that people are taking the law into their own hands and at the same time aren't doing anything drastically. These thief's deserve whatever punishment that will come to them, stealing little children's Christmas gifts from under their own tree is an all time low. I think that it is great that this family took the responsibility and took matters into their own hands in order to deal with the problem without any mishaps. This saves police time to deal with other crimes that are much worse. This is what I would call personal justice.

Terrorist are in our own backyards
Since 2013 there has been about 20 "American" citizens that have been trying to support or join Islamic terrorist states. Federal law enforcement is dealing with one of these American terrorist at least once every week. Lots of these members live in the United States or have legal residency. This makes them stay under the radar and very hard for law enforcement to catch. These "American" terrorist are very dangerous and are a very big threat to our Nation. Its very difficult to track down these men considering they don't have credit cards and use pre paid cell phones which the police and other law enforcement cannot track. They are trying their best to make sure that these men are put away, in order to keep our great country safe and secure.

Newtown families have had enough of guns
Nine families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, that happened back in 2012 are now suing the manufacturer of the weapon that was used during the shooting. In the morning of Dec. 14, 2012 a man named Adam Lanza shot and killed his mother, then drove to the Sandy Hook school where he shot 20 children and six educators/teachers. When police arrive Lanza then shot and killed himself. The nine suing are saying that the weapon the Lanza used should not be in the peoples hands because it was designed for military use. They say that it is not suitable for hunting or home defense so therefore it is pointless to be able to own in the civilian world.

The kettle thief
In Gulfport, Mississippi police are looking for a thief that pushed a salvation army bell ringer that was working her post at a grocery store, and ran off with the kettle. Micelle Pope was the bell ringer that was volunteering to make money for the Salvation Army. The money that people generously drop in the little kettles goes to help out families for the Holidays and also to buy Christmas gifts for children. Salvation Army Maj. Gary Sturdivant says that each kettle station makes about $150-$300 each shift. In his thirty years he has never had this problem before. Police are looking for the thief now, they have video of the person that is responsible. I'm sure the police will find this man and will be thrown in jail for what he has done.

The government controls what I eat
A new bill that was passed by congress on December 9 now doesn't allow schools to opt out of healthier school meal standards started by first lady Michelle Obama. School directors have been trying to ease the standards that have been passed by saying the whole grain food is more expensive, harder to prepare, and that kids don't like the meals. Another standard that is talked about in the bill is lowering the sodium in school lunches and meals. A member of the American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown said in an interview,
"If Congress hits the pause button now on the sodium reduction, it's possible that more children could develop high blood pressure and be at risk for heart disease or stroke before they even become adults,"
Republicans have been fighting the bill saying that it is an going to far and overreaching the governments limit. They argue that the bill will be to costly in the future and that kids will just end up throwing the food away.
As a student that gets the school lunch I can honestly say that most students just end up throwing away the pieces of food that they don't like or end up not eating at all. Certain items that they serve in the cafeteria for lunch are even a little to gross for me to eat, and I will eat anything... I think that it is absurd that the government is trying to control what I eat and what goes into MY body. I am a athlete and in excellent shape so if I want to eat junk food I will. Maybe instead of controlling and making students eat bad tasting food, maybe they should force them to play a school sport and get some activity. That will solve all the problems.

Playing hide and seek
For the past while the United states has been playing a game of hide and seek with ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Finding and killing this man would be a very big accomplishment for the United States military. Killing ISIS's leader would cause dramatic damage toward the terror group. It would also dismantle a group like ISIS. You can kill as many of their ground soldiers as you want but until you start knocking off leaders the group will still continue to cause terror. If The United States were able to find this man, I believe that ISIS would slowly fall and no longer exist.

Big headache
Studies have recently showed that high school football players can have significant brain damage after playing just a single season. The crazy thing is that kids can have brain injuries without having any symptoms of concussions. These injuries are not visible to the naked eye so they are very hard to detect. Studies have also observed that about two thirds of head injuries occur during practices rather than games. This could happen because the lack of athletic trainers that are present during practices. Athletic trainers are trained to pick out athletes that might have signs or symptoms of concussions or other injuries. Practices also seem to be more physical and longer than the typical football game that occurs once a week. Coming from a current high school football player I have noticed that practices are usually more tough on the players than games. We do drills after drills and wee keep doing them till we get them right. Many of these football drills involve full on contact with another player multiple times.

stop rioting
Ferguson Missouri was once a quiet little city located near St. Louis. Now it is a wreck with buildings smoldering from being caught on fire, people being robbed, and windows smashed in many business buildings. All of this happened because people cannot control their selves. Officer Darren Wilson in August shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown. Yesterday was the trial and the grand jury decided not to indict the police officer. This is what sparked the rioting with people being outraged of the decision. Reporters said the scene looked like a war zone, with riot police trying to control the ordeal.
There are other ways of getting your thoughts and words out to people rather than rioting and causing such a ordeal. Braking windows and robbing stores is not a way of letting people know how you feel about the courts decision. It only makes you look barbaric and honestly just stupid. You are ruining other peoples livelihoods by destroying a families business and taking there goods. To replace a store window is not cheap and to go around throwing rocks at them is just not right. While police were their trying to control the scene people were throwing rocks and other items at them also. This is just disrespectful to the people that are trying to protect you and help people in Ferguson that have been injured from all the shenanigans that were going on last night.

hazing goes to far
Nolan Burch was only 18 years old when he went into cardiac arrest at a frat house on the University of West Virginias campus. Nolan was from Williamsville in western NY and attended Canisious highschool in Buffalo. Everybody that knew Nolan said he was a very social and outgoing guy, very friendly. This is not the first time a tragedy like this has happened at West Virginia which is one of the top party schools in the nation.

Why wont Obama call it invasion?
Thousands and thousands of Russian troops have crossed the Russian border into their neighbor state Ukraine. With them they bring tanks, missiles, and anti air defense systems according to NATO's top commander. As we speak, Russian continues to bring in more man power and supplies into Ukraine. The Obama administration has not once called this act an invasion but instead an “ongoing Russian incursion.” Why is this? Why is it that calling the ordeal a invasion such a big deal? I've put two and two together and have come to a conclusion that the word invasion is a pretty dramatic word. When Americans and other countries hear "invasion" they immediately think that they have to take some kind of action in order to stop it.

Results of the midterm
The midterm election was yesterday and the results are in... The republicans now control the senate and also can pin down the Obama administration for his next two years. The GOP won the senate mainly because of some key wins in certain states. Toss up states that were in the air for either group, were won by the republicans. The GOP also got some key wins in Montana, South Dakota, Arkansas, West Virginia and North Carolina which were all recently democratic states. With the republicans controlling the senate it is going to make president Obamas job very difficult. Before, the democrats that had control of the senate would side with Obama but now the GOP will aggravate and disagree with lots of things that the president will want to do.

Who will be the top dog?
The midterm election is tomorrow and both parties see the election leaning towards the Republicans. If the republicans win the senate then they will have the power to set the agenda in the Senate, something they haven’t been able to do in eight years. Republicans today hold 45 house seats, if they are able to flip eight seats and hold their current seats then they will come up on top with a fifty-three seat majority. Republicans have a 74 percent chance of winning the Senate, and that Democrats have just a 26 percent chance of holding on. This is a pretty big percentage difference and it seems that the republicans will have no problem winning the house. Now all the numbers seem to be leaning towards the Republicans but until the actual election day tomorrow we will not know who will come up on top.

Jaylen Fryberg washington shooter
Last Friday there was a shooting in Washington at Marysville-Pilchuck High School. The shooter was 15 year old Jaylen Fryberg. Jaylen was just nominated for homecoming prince at his school a couple weeks earlier and was a football player. There were five students shot by jaylen before he shot and killed himself in the schools cafeteria. Jaylen texted the five kids and told them to come in the cafeteria, when they entered he shot them all. One was announced dead at the scene and the four are still in critical condition.
This shows you that no matter how popular someone is or how talented they are. They still have problems on the inside.

Why do candidates spend so much money?
The amount of money that all candidates spend on their elections is a tremendous amount! It hasn't always been such a large of money though, back in 2004 during the presidential elections only about 1.9 billion dollars was spent. Now a days that is about a third of what these politicians and every other high authority person spends on their elections. Nearly six billion dollars has been spent on the midterm elections this year. Their is absolutely no need for that much money being spent, there are other ways to get your name out to the public without spending that much money. It has obviously been done considering that there has never been that much money spent in past elections.

Election Money
The 2014 midterm elections are said to be the most expensive election in history. Back in 2004 during the presidential elections only about $1.9 billion dollars was spent. The question is where do these guys get billions and billions of dollars from to pay for their races. Both the democrats and
Republicans raise the money from private donations that are sent to them.
